Experience The reserve covers an area of over 34,000 hectares of savanna, bushveld & dry pan, offering over 30 different animal species. Plains game roam freely on the reserve & predators are common residents in the area.
The reserve boasts the biggest breeding colony of white-backed vultures in Namibia. During the summer, Onguma becomes a bird-watchers paradise with thousands of species migrating to wetlands created by the seasonal rains.
In the local Herero language, Onguma means, “the place you don’t want to leave.” Onguma Bush Camp certainly lives up to its name.
Stay Accommodation at Onguma Bush Camp consists of 18 rooms & is ideal for families with children. The room categories include 2 standard loft rooms, 8 deluxe rooms, 3 rondavels, 3 family units & 1 settler’s room (honeymoon suite).
The main area consists of a lounge & dining room, both overlooking the active waterhole, attracting a variety of thirsty animals. Relaxing sundowners can be enjoyed next to the swimming pool or thatched bar area.
Activities Most activities at Onguma take place around the watering hole, visible from the main lodge. Lazy afternoons are spent relaxing on the sofas in the lounge, watching passing wildlife.
