Shamwari Riverdene Family Lodge is a welcoming safari lodge where families feel right at home.
Riverdene offers 9 inter-leading luxury rooms, each including air-conditioning, en-suite bathroom & private veranda leading onto the landscaped gardens.
The main lodge area includes a large open plan lounge, a bar with a fireplace & a dining room with indoor & outdoor seating.
There is also a magnificent pool, supervised Kids Club, Toddler Play Area & a popular Kids Adventure Centre to ensure that the young ones are having fun from morning to evening.
Activities
Shamwari’s diverse wilderness area makes Big 5 game viewing easy. The reserve is home to lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo & rhino as well as plenty of plains game & over 200 varieties of raptors & birds.
Daily safari drives are conducted in open 4x4 vehicles. Professional rangers will take you on a journey through the bushveld & ensure close encounters with South Africa’s wildlife. Nature walks, spa treatments & photographic courses can also be arranged.
Guests staying at Shwamwari can also get involved in the Wildlife Rehabilitation Programme or the Born Free Big Cat Sanctuary where the focus is on conservation.
Children of all ages are welcome at Riverdene Lodge. The Kids Club activities include games, toys, arts & crafts & a one-of-a-kind Adventure Centre to keep children of all ages entertained. Activities include elevated walkways among the trees, ziplines & climbing walls.
