Why Asanja Moru?

The luxurious & intimate Asanja Moru is set amid rocky islands known as the Moru Kopjes inside the iconic Serengeti National Park in Tanzania.

Playing host to one of the most amazing wildlife spectacles in East Africa, the lodge lies directly on the path of the Great Wildebeest Migration, therefore promising guests a phenomenal wildlife experience.

The nearby Gong Rock delivers a series of Masai Paintings & towards the east lies Saline Lake Magadi, a paradise for flamingos.

Stay

Asanja Moru has 7 en-suite luxury bush tents & 1 two-bedroom family tent, all equipped with private verandas overlooking the scenic views of the Serengeti.

Each spacious tent has been individually designed, personalized & embellished in African style & culture. The family tent comprises 2 separate bedrooms, each with an en-suite bathroom.

The main lodge includes a comfortable lounge, safari bar, dining space & barbeque area.

Activities

Asanja Moru has a variety of activities on the safari menu.

These include open 4x4 game drives, hot air balloon safaris, guided walks, bush breakfasts, community visits to Maasai villages & sundowner excursions.

Bologonya Under Canvas

Adventure seekers will love Bologonya Under Canvas, an authentic mobile tented camp affording guests the chance to experience the less frequented & more remote areas of the Serengeti National Park. The camp changes location 3 times a year, which means that guests will have front row seats to one of Africa’s largest wildlife spectacles: The Great Wildebeest Migration. Ehlane Plains Camp

‘Ehlane’ means ‘wilderness’ in the Zulu language, & aptly so – because Ehlane Plains Camp lies deep in the heart of the eastern Serengeti, surrounded by endless savannas. Each year between October & December, this vast wilderness is covered in large herds of wildebeest, zebra & other antelope on their epic migratory journey through this part of Tanzania. During the Great Wildebeest Migration, resident predators such as lion, cheetah & spotted hyena are active - promising exceptional predator-prey interactions.

Kimondo Migration Camp

Kimondo Migration Camp, as the name suggests – moves periodically in pursuit of one of the most iconic wildlife spectacles on Planet Earth: The Great Wildebeest Migration. Between July to November, the camp is pitched in the famous Lamai Wedge of the northern Serengeti before moving south to Kusini between December & March. The Lamai Wedge is located between the Mara River & the Kenyan border, ensuring quality wildlife viewing. In the south, Kimondo boasts spectacular views over a popular waterhole.

Klein's Camp

Set in a 10,000-hectare private concession deep in the heart of Maasai land in the game-rich north eastern Serengeti, lies Kleins Camp – a luxurious & intimate safari camp. Kusini Kopjes Kambi

As the name suggests, Kusini Kopjes Kambi is built on a hilltop (‘kopjes’ means ‘a small, rocky hill’), overlooking the game-rich plains of the southern Serengeti. The southern Serengeti is where the annual Wildebeest Migration enters one of its most dramatic stages. During a 2- or 3- month period (from about January to March), wildebeest calves are born here in their tens of thousands, attracting predators ranging from big cats & wild dogs to hyenas & jackals. During this time of year, wildlife viewing is exceptional as it offers wonderful opportunities to see predator-prey interactions.

Lahia Tented Lodge

Perched on a hill, Lahia Tented Lodge offers breathtaking 360-degree views of the Central Serengeti & the Western Corridor. Lake Masek Tented Camp

Legendary Serengeti Camp

Moving location 3 times each year, Legendary Serengeti Mobile Camp follows one of Africa’s greatest wildlife spectacles: The Great Wildebeest Migration. Between July & November, the camp is pitched in the northern Serengeti to view the dramatic river crossings & between December & April the camp moves to the southern Serengeti for the lush green season, with calving happening around January. From May to July, the camp reaches the plains of the western Serengeti when mega herds gather in phenomenal numbers as far as the eye can see. Unique to Legendary Serengeti Camp, each group will have a dedicated safari guide & vehicle, ensuring an intimate, action-packed safari experience.

Lemala Ewanjan

Lemala Ewanjan, a secluded tented camp set within the game-rich Seronera Valley in the Central Serengeti, provides awe-inspiring views over the plains. With a careful eye on the migration route, the camp is pitched in the game-rich Ndutu area between December & March, then moves to the crocodile-infested Mara River in the northern Serengeti between June & October. During this time, the camp is situated close to the river’s popular crossing points, yet tucked away from the busy roads, which means that guests will have more privacy & access to additional river crossing points with better viewing opportunities.

Lemala Nanyukie

Set in a private concession on the banks of the beautiful Mbono River close to the Serengeti National Park, lies Mbono Tented Camp. Mkombe’s House is named after the legendary Tanzanian guide, Mkombo Mniko, who connected strongly with children - & their parents. This private safari villa is set within one of the richest areas of the Serengeti & has been designed to give families a home-away-from-home safari experience. The villa has everything a family needs - from cots, cribs, high chairs & babysitting services to a plunge pool & large swimming pool overlooking the Lamai Wedge & the Mara River Valley – the site of the iconic Wildebeest Migration river crossings from about July to October.

Mwiba Lodge
