The main lodge features a lounge, dining room, swimming pool & large deck area where lazy afternoons can be enjoyed.

Activities

Twice daily game drives in open 4x4 safari vehicles will take guests on a journey through the African bushveld & provide close encounters with Africa’s Big 5.

On the afternoon game drive, a sundowner bush stop is made where guests can enjoy a G&T while watching the sunset.

Nature walks are also possible. Expert guides & Shangaan trackers will accompany guests on all activities & teach them how to track animals on foot.

Elephant Plains

Elephant Plains is located within the heart of the Sabi Sand Reserve, adjacent to the Kruger National Park in South Africa. The lodge is great for families & offers excellent Big 5 game viewing as well as some of the rarer species, such as African wild dog & cheetah. Elephant Plains accommodates a maximum of 24 guests in 6 luxury suites, 5 thatched rondavels & 1 honeymoon suite.

Kirkman's Camp

Kirkman’s Camp is located above the Sand River in the world-renowned Sabi Sand Reserve, forming part of the Greater Kruger region. Named after one of the early conservationists, W. Harry Kirkman, the lodge is decorated in 1920’s style with French doors, rolling lawns & a tennis court. This Victorian homestead features 12 luxury cottages that are spread across the property. Each cottage has an en-suite bathroom with a ball-&-claw bath as well as a private verandah with spectacular views over the bush.

Leopard Hills

Leopard Hills is set on a hill overlooking a natural waterhole within the wildlife-rich Sabi Sand Reserve & bordering South Africa’s famed Kruger National Park. Umkumbe Safari Lodge is located on the banks of the Sand River in the Sabi Sand Reserve, a private concession right next to the Kruger National Park. A typical home-away-from-home camp, Umkumbe is the kind of place where you can enjoy the comforts of the bush without spending an arm & a leg on an authentic safari experience. Umkumbe consists of only 10 rooms & suites, most of which have fantastic views of the Sand River or waterhole. There are 7 superior suites & 3 standard rooms.
